How Do French Doors Connect Wedding Moments at Old Bethany Venue?

We love when a wedding day feels connected from one moment to the next. That starts with the layout of our venue. Our 6,500 square foot air-conditioned white barn sits on a 100-acre property in Lorena, Texas, with indoor and outdoor spaces that help couples, guests, and vendors stay in one place for the duration.

The Grand Room features five sets of French doors, with two sets opening toward the covered patio and Turf Lawn. This connects the indoor reception space to outdoor gathering areas, allowing ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and photography to flow naturally on one 100-acre property without requiring guests to travel between separate locations.

One of our favorite details is the French doors in the Grand Room. They’re beautiful, but they’re also practical. The Grand Room has five sets of French doors, and two sets open toward the covered patio and Turf Lawn. That makes it easier for the day to move from ceremony spaces to cocktail hour, reception, photographs, and guest gathering areas without making everyone travel between locations.

They open the Grand Room to outdoor gathering spaces

The Grand Room is the main indoor space in our barn, with 3,600 square feet, 35-foot ceilings, an all-white interior, and a large wall of windows. It works especially well for receptions because it gives guests room to move while still feeling organized.

The French doors help connect that indoor space to the covered patio and Turf Lawn. Guests can move between the Grand Room and outdoor areas more comfortably, and vendors have more room to work with the full layout of the property. It keeps the day from feeling boxed into one room.

Feel natural and organic transitions

Weddings usually have several moving parts. Ceremony, photographs, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and guest seating all need to flow together. At Old Bethany, everything is in one place, so guests do not need to travel between locations during the celebration.

Our ceremony spaces include The Turf Lawn, The Oak Tree, and The Chapel, a 2,400 square foot indoor space coming in fall 2026. It will be about 50 feet from the Turf Lawn, which helps keep the ceremony area close to the rest of the celebration. When guests can move from ceremony spaces to the covered patio, lawn, and Grand Hall in the Barn without confusion, arrival feels less rushed, and the venue is easy to navigate.

They support a stronger photography experience

Photographers love working here because Old Bethany gives them multiple usable spaces without making the couple drive between locations. The all-white interior, large wall of windows, clean white exterior, covered patio, Turf Lawn, and The Oak Tree all give the gallery a cohesive look.

The French doors add another layer. They help connect indoor and outdoor photographs naturally, especially when the couple wants a wedding story that moves from getting ready to ceremony, reception, and night images in one setting. The large windows and French doors bring in natural light during the day, while the all-white interior gives the barn a visually stunning blank canvas.

They pair well with the full wedding layout

Our venue includes more than the barn itself. Couples also have access to the Bridal Suite, Groom’s Suite, spacious prep kitchen, covered patio, Turf Lawn, and outdoor ceremony areas. The Bridal Suite includes a full-length mirror, seating, a hair and makeup bar, a private toilet room, and a connection to the spacious women’s restroom so the bridal party can spread out.

The Groom’s Suite has an elevated rustic design, deer mounts, a smart TV, and a shower. Our spacious prep kitchen includes a commercial refrigerator, stand-up warmer, ice maker, triple sink, and stainless steel prep tables, giving catering teams space to stay organized. We also have great relationships with excellent caterers, which helps couples plan food service with more confidence. We include 350 indoor cross-back chairs, 350 outdoor white garden chairs, 20 round tables, and 20 rectangle tables. Event coordinators can also be hired to help your day run even smoother!

The French doors are one small detail, but they say a lot about the full experience. They connect the Grand Room to the covered patio and lawn, they help guests move comfortably, and they give photographs a natural indoor-to-outdoor rhythm.
